Hey, I’m Max. I’m an artist based in South London. I work across painting, drawing, sculpture and music production. This website is a place to bring these different parts of my practice together, and to keep a record of what I make as it develops.

Visually, I’m interested in geometry, pattern, symbolism, myth, nature, colour and form. Sonically I enjoy working across a range of genres, primarily experimental hip hop and grime, while also exploring guitar, piano and songwriting. I’m also deeply interested in the sciences, mysticism, theology and philosophy, and these interests often find their way into my work.

I make art and music as a means of exploration. I see creating as a process of self-discovery, a conversation between the conscious and unconscious mind, and so each time I make something I feel I get a little closer to understanding myself and the world around me. To me, the value of creativity isn’t only in the finished piece, but also in what happens to the person making it. I try to give the work the attention it deserves, trust my intuition and be as truthful as possible in the process.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wishing you health, wealth and happiness.

Max
